A school readiness assessment is a formal assessment to determine whether your child is ready to enter primary school.
It includes an assessment of the following areas: social, emotional, physical and intellectual abilities.
The assessment usually starts with an initial intake interview with the parents, which takes about 45 minutes. Thereafter, the child remains at the assessment venue and a series of tests are used, formal and informal. This part of the assessment takes approximately 3 hours to complete, depending on the individual. Thereafter, a feedback session will be scheduled. Parents will receive detailed verbal feedback on the assessment, as well as a written report with recommendations.
